This week I'm off to be a writer-in-residence at Woodleigh Junior School. I'm looking forward to meeting the kids, hearing their thoughts, and I hope, helping them learn to shape their own stories.
That's the funny thing about being a writer. I spend most of my life closeted in my own little office with the imaginary characters living in my mind and computer (or walking the dog to think about them - or occasionally to avoid thinking about them!) But then there's times like last week, with lots of interviews, and now a week spent in the midst of lots of kids.
It mightn't be a life that would suit everyone... but I feel pretty lucky!
